As I mentioned before, we ate far too much in San Francisco. But the food was so amazing – and I actually planned good, solid, Yelp-approved dining establishmentsfor each meal of the day (kind of a talent, if you ask me). So, like any good blogger I took pictures of everything I ate.
Get ready for a lot of food pics.
It should also be mentioned that every Yelp-approved, amazing eatery had an equally as tragic line and/or wait to eat there. Patience is a virtue when it comes to fooding. A virtue my husband does not have, but he puts up with me anyway.
Our first stop was Dottie’s True Blue Cafe – we’d been here a few years ago on a trip to SF and I haven’t stopped thinking about their pancakes since.
Cinnamon and nutmeg in the batter people. In the batter. They are epic. I’m not even sure what my husband ate, because these pancakes were all-consuming.
Did I mention Dottie’s has the cutest “hole in the wall, chic” atmosphere? Exposed brick walls, chandeliers in the dining rooms, big glamorous pictures of 1920s starlets – everything I love about old, wonderful, SF buildings.
We also ate a cream puff from Beard Papa’s after so – yeah. That was a lot of unnecessary calories.
For our first night’s dinner we made a trip to Pier 39 and ate at the Crab House. I’m not a crab person, but the hub adores shellfish, so me – being the good wife that I am – appeased him. They also have kind of amazing fish and chips, so that was a bonus.
An even better bonus was the amazing light coming in through the window next to our table. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of it – so, here’s another one.
Sorry (not sorry).
On Saturday night we went to Tacolicious simply because I’ve seen so many pics of this place on Instagram courtesy of the amazing SonyaYu – that I felt it would be a disservice to visit SF and not eat here. Do you follow her on IG? Cause you should.
They have amazing chips and salsa – equally as amazing guac, which is an absolute weak spot for me. Also one of the most tasty fish tacos I’ve ever eaten.
Last, but certainly not least – I visited (read: obsessively waited in line every day for) Blue Bottle Coffe. Hands down best.soy.latte.ever.
