You know how they say sometimes you just “know”? Yeah, I get that. Because if someone would have told me that when I was getting ready for the Homecoming Dance with the football player that sat across from me in English and Photo senior year, that I was actually getting ready to fall in love with my future husband – I never would have believed them. But when he held my hand in the car on the way to the dance – even though both of us had only just met – I “knew.”
Our love story is a special one. It was young love that turned into lasting love. And as we celebrated our 5-year wedding anniversary and our 10-year anniversary of being together on Saturday, I couldn’t help but think how lucky we are to have found each other so early in life. Today, I’m thankful that my 17-year-old self recognized love even though I had never felt it. I’m thankful that through 10 years of being with someone, we still find new ways to make each other laugh every day. I’m thankful to have a husband who is generous, kind, compassionate, hard-working, handsome – and meant just for me. And let’s face it – I’m thankful I married a man who loves to shop as much as I do. Like I said, sometimes you just “know.”
