One of my favorite holiday traditions is getting all dressed up with my husband, finding a big red bow for Lani, and heading out for some fun holiday photos for our Christmas cards. I’m am (VERY) blessed to have an incredibly talented sister to take photos of us – and I always return the favor by taking some of her family as well. It works out quite nicely for us both. 🙂
This year Mike had the idea to do more of a “themed” photo session with some 50s-inspired fashion. Yes, ladies – he picked out his whole outfit – suspenders, skinny tie and even the red socks. Don’t be jealous (wink). I thought my J.Crew birthday dress would work perfectly with the theme, especially with the addition of my favorite beaded collar.
I’m kind of obsessed with them – aren’t they fun!? We took these in our hometown of Orange at a place called the Orange Circle. It’s the sweetest little center filled with boutiques, great restaurants and beautiful old houses. With its vintage charm and scenic streets, we felt like it was the perfect place for our shoot.
I can’t wait to order prints and frame these all over our house. I was so excited about them that I actually ordered our Christmas card WEEKS ago – I made sure to wait until December 1 before I dropped them in the mail though. 🙂 Now that cards are out, presents are being wrapped and the tree is lit, it’s definitely beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here!
