A few weeks ago I was (so) excited to announce that my sister and I were featured as contributors in the summer edition of Souvenir Lifestyle Magazine. I was even more excited when I finally got my print copy in the mail. I’m a sucker for gorgeous photography and good, quality print (I know it’s old-fashioned, but there’s something about holding it in your hand!) and was so inspired by the amazing list of women that contributed to making this magazine so special. In case you missed the feature, you can order a digital copy online here.
We spent a lot of time shooting for those eight little pages, and I wanted to share some of my favorite pics that didn’t make the mag. These first few photo sets were taken by me, and the last two I borrowed from my sister since yours truly made a guest appearance in them (eh hem, still a fashion blogger, folks – always trying to get in front of the camera). Those other pretty girls (well, you can’t see much of them since we had to be “discreet” about faces) are my beautiful nieces, who so sweetly volunteered to model my favorite sun hat and beach bag. 🙂
Our article was about one of our very favorite places growing up, Balboa. It’s a charming little city by the Back Bay and has always been a place that feels like summer for me. I have so many memories eating Balboa Bars (that delicious ice cream creation you see above), walking on the pier peeking in fishermen’s buckets at the latest catch, getting milkshakes at Ruby’s, learning to bodysurf in the small ocean waves – I can almost feel the sandy toes and salty beach hair just looking at these. I hope they’ll give you a little taste of one my favorite places in SoCal, too. And don’t forget to pick up your copy of Souvenir Magazine here for even more beach bliss!
