oh hi, winter.

winter finally decided to grace us with its presence right as everyone decided they want to start wearing spring fashion. cool. but i’m not complaining. i splurged on this buffalo check peacoat at J.Crew right after Christmas and have been waiting weeks to break it out. check.

we’re heading to the mountains this weekend for a little getaway (and no, our mountains have no snow – unless you count the fake stuff they’re producing for people desperate for snow sports), so i’m hoping i’ll be able to get a little more use out of some of my winter wear before it’s too late. i already made two spring purchases over the weekend (this Anthro skirt and these booties) cause i know it’s only a matter of weeks until we’re in the 70s/80s every day (don’t hate me those of you who’ve been buried in snow for the past few weeks – at least you get some use out of your coats and scarves!).

i always get a little sad saying bye to my favorite cold-weather pieces for the year. it happens far too quickly in SoCal if you ask me (and yes, i realize i should move to a colder climate and stop bitching), but there’s something so comforting about bundling up.

what about you – are you ready for pastels, florals and white skinnies? or are you still hooked on buffalo check and fair isle knits?

xo,
Mo

  1. I love that peacoat! It is adorable! I am right there with you with this weather. Although, I could not handle temps lower than 40s and 50s. Have fun in the mountains! Are you headed to Big Bear?

  2. I am not over my buffalo check and winter clothes, but I’m over crappy weather and precipitation pretending it’s snow.
